AIB Animated Digital Designs

AIB is one of the Big Four commercial banks in Ireland. AIB offers a full range of personal, business and corporate banking services as well as general insurance products such as home, travel and car.

Working as a member of the digital team for the AIB rebrand, I created a suite of dynamic digital ads to be used on their home page and display advertising. Translating the visual style and graphic elements we had developed during the rebrand, I showed how subtle movements could help re-enforce the brand’s new visual language and bring it to life.

As budget would be an ongoing concern, I could only use static images that could be brought over to print campaigns. This meant that I had to find new and inventive ways to excite the images, creating a fluid and rich media feel.

Due to the scale of the company and a previous lack of design clarity, many different icon styles were being used throughout their marketing collateral. The rebrand offered us an opportunity to create an extensive, clear but flexible grid structure for designers in many agencies to create new AIB icons that all have a consistent look and feel.

I worked on the finer details of this system, making sure that it met strict digital standards for optimum legibility and distilled it down to an absorbable amount of information.

That same grid system was used to develop a set of icons for AXA Insurance to use on their AIB portal, creating unique icons for AXA while still having a clear AIB connection. This led to confidence from the consumer that the partnership was legitimate and trustworthy.

Working closely with AIB’s internal digital developers I created detailed redlines for them to work with. These industry standard redlines indicated the intricate details on both desktop site pages and their mobile app.

Although my work on AIB mostly centres around digital work, I also create printed elements when needed, such as brochures, flyers or in-store collateral.
